The Naked Mole Rats Rise Again!

For those of you that were in my Soul Group you will know what I am talking about at the zoo... the meerkats... aka...the Naked mole rats. My neighbor and I took our little men to the zoo yesterday, beautiful day for it. And while her little guy was enthralled with the giraffes who were all three in their holding cell while the baby ate it's portion of the food outside, J was tickled by the meerkats. I got him out of his stroller and when he finally saw what I was pointing at, he let out a little "hee." That's his pleased laugh right now. He just kept watching them fight with one another and play. So that was cute to see and we will have to make sure that we don't miss those next time! Cause we missed them last time!

Well, most of you might already know by now that my numbness has gotten a little bit better. I am not "as numb" as I once was. So I just hope that it all goes away soon, cause there are still things that are difficult for me, like sleeping (on my left side is not the best option) and things like that. But I am doing well overall, my appetite is not affected nor is my sense of humor!

Other than that...I would like to sound off on gas prices...and Ford. They are making vacation planning a little less enjoyable this year. Look....I just want to take J to the beach... is that too much to ask? Can you just give me a set schedule and then stick with it? That's all for now.

Thank you and good night America!

No time for this...

This whole blogging thing is incredibly time consuming! That's probably why I stick with email and other things of that nature. I wanted to give an update about my health to those who may or may not get emails etc. My back MRI was normal and therefore probably presents no real urgency for the neurologist with whom I have an appointment scheduled for August 1. There is a cancellation waiting list and I asked to be put on that. So maybe I will have an appointment sooner than what was originally made for me!

I am still numb from my waist down and it's starting to wear on me a little bit. I just need prayers for healing and to help with my attitude towards this period in my life.

One more for the road!

Does it bother anyone else that we who are blogging and Facebooking are in essence saying, we really don't care that much about our privacy anymore? Especially if we don't set our blogs to private. We are just giving up rights to anybody who wants to read about our lives. I mean I know that the gov't could come in here at any point and tap into anything, but does it bother anyone else out there?

You're so Vain, you probably think this blog is about you....

Well, the waiting begins again. I had an MRI of my back (lumbar spine to be exact) done today. Not nearly as bad as the other one was, probably because I knew what I was walking into. I even got to listen to music in headphones this time. I think they will probably have the results ready on Friday at the dr's office. I hope there are some answers. Watch, they will probably be like... nope you are just fine!

On a J note.... he has switched nursery classes which has worked better than I thought that it would. Not that he can't hold his own cause he can...i think I was the one who was holding him back! Anyway, he pulled up to his feet on one of those push and go toys last night and took like 3 or 4 steps. Then he did it again later on. Maybe this is all quite normal for his age right now, but I was simply amazed. But he probably saw another child do it in his nursery class. He also wrote an overture last night for the baby Einstein opera edition. In a typical, first born, over achiever fashion, he is moving right along!

Saturday Night Fever

All my blood work came back normal! Yeah! That was a call at 7:15am this morning from my doctor.... who in the heck calls at 7:15am? But anyway... We took J to the pediatrician today for his 9 month check up. He's doing well if you all haven't seen him in a while.

Then, after I dropped the boys off, I went to the chiropractor who said he didn't take appointments. Issue #1... So I signed in to a sign in sheet at the receptionist desk, with no receptionist and sat down and picked up a People magazine. 45 minutes later I am still waiting to be seen and there is one person in front of me! i thought, I am going to be here for 3 hours! Vowing that I will see this guy today and then go somewhere else where they take appointments, thinking I have no time for this.... Finally, he comes and gets the lady and says I will be with you in a little while. I'm thinking well obviously, all these people have all day to sit around at the chiropractors office just waiting their turn, but I do not. But she only took like 5 min.

So I go back there and it's a throw back form the 70's. I don't think they have updated anything since then. But then we start talking and he takes x-rays also on very 70's equipment. I am thinking, How much bad stuff am I really putting into my body at this point? But he goes and develops them in his back room.. comes out, we chat and then he works on my back...

At the end of the visit, he gets out this blue tape and put three pieces on my back and stomach. He says this will trick my muscles into going the opposite way so they will unconstrict faster etc. I'm still not totally sure. He said if it starts to come off I can retape it with something else. He also says it's waterproof, so I should be able to leave it on for a few days!!!!! And that he could sell me a roll so I could keep putting this on for like the rest of my life! WHAT?!??! By 4pm it had half fallen off, and lost it's stickiness...so I took the rest of it off. I mean come on, picking up and putting down J and then holding him...are you serious? That stuff would only stay on if it's Duct tape and I refuse to donate my body to science.

Needless to say, I will give this guy another shot on Wednesday and see if he can further help anything along. I have no idea how long it will take to see results. But it's probably a good idea that I went to see him when I did.

It really is all about me!

Yes folks, as you might have guessed, this blog will probably contribute to the size of my already large ego.  I used my son as a cover story and sure I'll post pics of how he is crawling and pulling up on things and write about how he loves being outside and is so cute when he rubs his feet in the grass while sitting in the grass every now and then, but if I can't get time on Cable Access (not because I have tried--but I would still like to), am not going to run for City Council here in Mt. Washington, (although I am pretty sure if I just had the money for the publicity aspect of things, I think I could win), or probably won't enter into real estate sales for at least another 20 years, then dag gone it...I am going to have something that is indeed all about me!

I want to give a shout out to AC, who made a comment in my previous blog, for those of you that would like to reference where the idea for this blog originated !

So please stay tuned for further narcissistic episodes as they are recorded here where everyone can read about and maybe even relate to them, because at this point, I have no shame.

It's confirmed! I am normal!

Okay, if you haven't seen on facebook, via email or any other type of communication. The MRI came back normal! So I have another dr. appointment on Friday. So we'll see where that leads us! Thanks for your thoughts and prayers!
